Virginia Court Should Not Have Transferred Support Case To Louisiana.

In the case of ONeil v. ONeil, the Virginia Court of Appeals, in a published decision, held that this spousal support case should not have been transferred from Virginia to Louisiana. Virginia Code § 20-88.43:2 requires that the court that issued spousal support order retained continuing, exclusive jurisdiction to modify the support order for its duration. This court was the court that issued the spousal support order.

-Rob Hagy, Charlottesville Divorce Attorney Commentary: Nothing surprising here. This was a pretty straight forward application of the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act.
