Wife’s Removal of Funds for Child Support Arrearage Larceny By False Pretenses

In the case of Groves v. Commonwealth, the Virginia Court of Appeals, in an unpublished opinion, ruled that, although a woman claimed her estranged husband owed her nearly $3,000 in back child support, she could not use self help to take money out of husband’s separate checking account and could be convicted of larceny under false pretenses.
