Local Attorney Attends Advanced Child Custody Law Program
Local attorney, Robert R. Hagy, II Esq., of the Law Offices of Rob Hagy, P.C. attended the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Special Advanced Practice Child Custody Retreat in Richmond, Virginia on February 10th and 11th. The program for the retreat was titled “Inheriting or Rehabilitating the Tough Custody Case”. Attendance was limited to members of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and then again to only thirty participants. The goal of the program was to better prepare attorneys to represent new potential clients who come to them after having received an adverse ruling or opinion from a judge, guardian ad litem, or custody evaluator and need help improving their case. Mr. Hagy learned how to take over these difficult custody cases and how to develop protocols for changing the results. The program placed special emphasis on working with the client and the client’s mental health provider to limit adverse opinions of custody evaluators and guardians ad litem. In addition, the program explored procedural strategies to help neutralize adverse experts, custody evaluators or guardians ad litem. The program is offered annually and Mr. Hagy looks forward to attending next year.”
