Parents Cannot Suspend Child Support When Custodial Parent is Receiving Public Assistance

In the case of State ex rel. Mitchell v. Armstrong, the Tennessee Court of Appeals has ruled that parents may not privately agree to suspend child support when the custodial parent is receiving public assistance.
