New Study Says That Cohabitation Harms Children.

The University of Virgina’s National Marriage Project and the Institute for American Values issued a report this week titled “Why Marriage Matters.” This report determines that children living in cohabiting households don’t do as well socially, educationally or psychologically as children living in intact married households.  In Virginia (and more specifically in the Albemarle and Charlottesville area), Judges can and frequently do consider whether a parent is cohabiting when deciding a custody and visitation case.  Before cohabiting, a parent should call his or her divorce lawyer.  If you are about to cohabit, consider the matter seriously before you do.  It could have a serious affect on your relationship with your children.
